Susana Geronimo is among the many people relocated from a shanty town in Manila City in the late '70s. Fifteen years ago, she ventured into a business selling charcoal for household fuel. Her business grew gradually until she was able to establish a general merchandise store selling grocery items and rice. Later she added commercial feed for livestock. She is now earning 30,000 PHP per month. Susana is a hardworking entrepreneur living along the rolling hills of Camarin in Caloocan City with her husband, Reynaldo, 42, a driver by profession.

In 2006, Susana got to know about the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) Credit Cooperative from a longtime member and became a member herself. She is now on her twelfth loan cycle and has applied for a new loan of 30,000 PHP to be used for the expansion of her businesses. Susana dreams of owning a taxicab for her husband soon.
