Herlinda, 53 years old, lives with her husband and her granddaughter in a rented house. She has six children, but they are all grown and live separately. Along with her husband, her business is growing fruits like guanabanas, oranges, and bananas. Every fifteen days she picks the fruit from the bushes on her farm, in particular the bananas which she plants every fifteen days. Buyers came to her house to buy her fruit. With the citrus fruits she waits until summertime, when she sells the guanabanas and oranges at a higher price. Herlinda likes her work because although the market prices are low she always earns enough money to cover her food costs, and this makes her quite happy.

This is her first loan with MFP; the president of the community bank invited her to join the group. She is very grateful and promises to be punctual with her payments and not abuse the trust put in her. She will invest the money from the loan to purchase one thousand orange tree saplings in order to renew and alternate her crops
