N.p Squard Group

This is Michael Wokelow and John B. Kamara. They call their group N.P Squad, named after the area they sell. They are small scale businessmen in Makeni city, in northern Sierra Leone. They have received several loans from Kiva through SMT. They always repay their loans on time and in full. Their previous loan was for Le 1,000,000 each. This helped them a lot. They were able to make a lot of profit from the loan, thus able to solve many of their problems. Today, they are requesting a loan of Le 1,300,000 each to further add to their businesses.

Michael Wokelow (right) is the leader of this group. Michael was born in Lunsar small town, in northern Sierra Leone. He is forty-five years of age, married and a father of seven children who are attending schools. Michael sells medicines and has been doing this business for over twenty years now.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Learn more
