Em Mex

Em Mex, 38, is married and lives with two of her children in the Takeo province. She and her husband (pictured) are farmers who typically make about US$2 each day and are. Besides farming, her husband also works as a middle man selling cows. This allows him to earn about US$5 a week. The weather conditions have been difficult for farming in Cambodia this past year and inflation has also been out of control. These factors have played into a difficult economic year for many Cambodians, Em Mex included. In light of these economic difficulties, she is asking for a loan of US$800 to purchase fertilizer and raise cows. She is confident that this loan will allow her to increase her daily income and to better support her family.
