Josefina Velasco - 54 years old - is a native of Ormoc, Leyte that has migrated to Metropolitan Manila. Her husband Narciso - 48 years old - is a welder. They have two children. Her family lives in a government subsidized housing facility in Pasay City.

Josefina manages a fleet of pedicabs (rickshaw) that run different routes in her community. Josefina also sells purified drinking water in large blue containers and uses a rickshaw to deliver them to households. She earns close to Php 7,000 a month combined, from these business activity.

Being a member of the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) Credit Cooperative since 2004 has been a blessing for Josefina. With her profits, she has been able to purchase another pedicab unit, which she uses to deliver the purified drinking water. Josefina now needs a new loan in the amount of Php 11,000 to invest into a new venture of frozen meat products sales.

She is working hard to save money to help her husband establish his own welding shop.
