Rebecca Nassuna Group

Rebecca is 32 years old and married with four children between the ages of two and fifteen years, three of whom go to school. She also takes care of additional family members. Rebecca rents a two-room house with electricity but no piped water in a semi-urban area in the outskirts of Kampala. Seven other people live in this house. Her family eats three meals a day.

Rebecca sells spare parts for motorcycles seven days a week in Bwaise, south of Kampala. She receives an average of five customers a day. The major financial challenges she faces are transportation to work and shopping, school fees and rent.

Rebbecca has been with MCDT (Micro Credit for Development and Transformation) for five years with the same group mates and is paying off her tenth loan. She is requesting this loan to buy more spare parts for her shop. Rebecca aspires to see her business grow bigger so she may own her own shop and build a house.










About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Learn more
