Comunidad Unida 4 Group

Milka is the coordinator of her Bank of Hope and an associate of Esperanza International, currently looking to take out her third loan. She lives with her husband and children in a cement house with a tin roof. They live in the northern part of Santo Domingo, the crowded capital of the Dominican Republic, where running water and electricity are unreliable.

Milka owns her own cafeteria that she runs from inside of her house. With this loan, she is planning on buying much more rice, bananas, potatoes, yucca, carrots, lettuce, and different types of meat, which will allow her to offer her customers more variety and therefore increase her earnings.

In the long run, she hopes to open a larger cafeteria that is separate from her house, allowing business more room to thrive and more space in the house for her children to grow up. She would like to thank all of you for your generous support.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
