Mercedes Morales Lopez

Mercedes is 53 years old, married, has six children and her husband is a bricklayer. She is a merchant. She sells baked corn in the afternoons and on the weekends she sells traditional “antojitos” (little cravings) such as tacos, empanadas, and chalupas. She is part of a group named “Montebello 2” together with Cecilia Hernandez Giron, craftswoman, who embroiders napkins, blouses, and coarse cotton trousers. With the loan, Mercedes will invest in the improvement of her store where she sells her products because their preparation requires adequate space and cleanliness. Cecilia will purchase fabric and thread at wholesale prices. Both women will be able to increase their production and its sales.
