Afia

Afua started her fresh fish business two years ago in the community where she lives. She runs a mini cold store where she sells fresh fish and chicken. She serves her customers with very tasty and good quality fish and, because of that, many customers buy from her stand. She also runs a farm to earn adequate income to add to her business. She has a large customer base and customers travel from the nearby villages to buy her fish. She takes delivery of fish from Dwinase which is a nearby busy market.

Afua is now 40 years old and is a widowed mother with four children. Currently one child is in school while the rest are working. She wants to use the loan to buy an increased stock of assorted fish and chicken and also a refrigerator in which to stock her goods. It is her dream to provide a better education for her children and she believes that when she is fully resourced her dream will be fulfilled.
