Gnemogognouman Group

The members of the Gnèmogognouman group, (eight women of which 5 are married and 3 are widows) are on average 37 years old with 4 children, and live as a majority in monogamous homes in FAMA, one of the neighborhoods of the city of Sikasso in the third administrative region of the republic of Mali.
They are working with the Soro Yiriwaso micro finance institution in order to satisfy the needs of their customers, and this is their third group loan, after correctly repaying the two preceding loans.
They sell seasonings, fruits and vegetables, cereals, and atiéké (granulated cassava root).
With their new loan, they plan to purchase 8 baskets of seasonings, 5 parcels of vegetables and 300 kg of atiéké. They get their supplies in the Sikasso marketplace and in the neighboring villages.
They sell in the various Sikasso markets and in the neighborhoods in a traveling manner, usually for cash and on rare occasions on credit to a clientele made up of men and women.
They each envision making a profit of 35,000 CFA francs, of which a portion will be used for savings and for family needs, and the other portion will be reinvested in their activities.
Some of them plan to help their husbands with the construction on their home plot in Sikasso and others plan to enlarge their business.

Les membres du groupe Gnèmogognouman, (huit femmes dont 5 mariées et 3 veuves) avec une moyenne d’âge de 37 ans, 4 enfants, vivent dans des foyers majoritairement monogames à FAMA un des quartiers de la ville de Sikasso, 3ème région administrative de la république du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle et sont à leur troisième prêt solidaire après avoir correctement remboursés les deux précédents.
Elles font de la vente de condiments alimentaires, des fruits et légumes, des céréales et de l’atiéké.
Avec leur nouveau prêt, elles comptent acheter, 8 paniers de condiments alimentaires, 5 colis de légumes et 300 kg d’atiéké. Elles s’approvisionnent au grand marché de Sikasso ville et dans les villages avoisinants.
Elles vendent dans les différents marchés de la ville de Sikasso et dans les quartiers de façon ambulante, généralement au comptant et quelques rare fois à crédit à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elles envisagent réaliser chacune un bénéfice mensuel de 35 000 FCFA dont une partie sera utilisée pour l’épargne et les besoins de la famille, l’autre partie sera réinvestie dans les activités.
Certaines d’entre elles comptent aider leur mari dans la construction de leur lot à usage d’habitation à Sikasso ville et d’autres agrandir leur activités.
