Quingeo Communal Bank is comprised of 6 members as well as member who is using the loan for for personal growth and family health. Quingeo is a parish located an hour and a half outside the Cuenca city, a location with beautiful landscape, lush vegetation, and enviable flora and fauna. Quingeo's most well-known festivals include Carnaval, because of its various events including the Capulí Queen's event and many more. It is one of the most beautiful areas outside of Cuenca city.
All of the members of Quingeo Communal Bank migrated to their current location from the city, in search of better days for their families.
Manuela Quituisaca Villa is a Quingeo parish native, and she is a member of the Communal Bank of the same name. She migrated to the area from Cuenca city two years ago to find a better future for her family. She lives in the open market sector. Manuela is 49 years old, she is married, and has 8 children. She does not remember the ages of her two oldest children, but they are both married and live with their respective families. She also has two young children, 9 and 6 years old, who live with her at home in Quingeo and their older sister takes care of them. The children also live in a rented home with Manuela's husband in the city, because he works in a small kiosk that he owns and with which he helps pay for the expenses they have at home.
Manuela has been selling vegetables in the open market for two years now and it has gone very well, especially on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays when she gets her vegetable deliveries and resells them all around the market. She is happy because Cuenca municipality has helped her obtain a post inside the market so she can work from one place and she no longer has to walk around anymore.
This is her first loan and one of her friends introduced her to the group because she too had improved her economic situation through a loan. This loan that FUNDACION ESPOIR is giving Manuela will be invested in the purchase of her market stall and everything else her new stall needs, as well as toward the purchasing of more vegetables for her business.
Her goal is to eventually cultivate all of land, because at the moment it has been neglected while she builds up her vegetable stall in the market.
Rosario Del Cisne Bermeo is another member of Quingeo Communal Bank, and she migrated from her native Quingeo parish to settle in Cuenca city 18 years ago. Rosario is 31 years old and recently married, but she has been living with her partner for over 12 years now and they have three children who are 9, 7, and 2 years old. They do not have their own home yet so they rent, and her husband is a bricklayer. They each help their family, and when her husband cannot find work, he helps her with her business.
Rosario sells vegetables, grains, onions, and more in the open market. She has been selling goods since she was young, and she thanks God that her business has done well. She sells the most on Saturdays and Sundays, but regardless, every day she sells from 6am to 6pm, and days when she does traveling sales to markets farther away, she leaves at 4am so that she can claim a stall in those markets.
This is Rosario's first loan, and a friend invited her to be part of the group. With the money FUNDACION ESPOIR is giving her, she will invest in the purchase of her own permanent stall in the market as well as buying more grain and growing her business.
Her dream is to save enough money to buy her own car or plot of land.

Quingeo es un parroquia que se encuentra a una hora y media a las afueras de la ciudad de Cuenca, es un lugar con un paisaje muy hermoso, su vegetación es exuberante, tiene una flora y fauna envidiable, las fiestas más conocidas son las de carnaval por la variedad de actos que realizan como por ejemplo la reina del capulí y muchos más, es uno de los hermosos lugares que tiene la Ciudad de Cuenca.
De los integrantes del banco comunal Quingeo todos han migrado de su terruño hacia la ciudad en busca de mejores días para su familia y nos brindan sus historias.
La señora Manuela Quituisaca Villa es oriunda de la parroquia Quingeo, es socia del banco comunal del mismo nombre, migro hace dos años a la ciudad de Cuenca en busca de un mejor futuro para su familia, vive en el sector de la feria libre, Manuela tiene 49 años de edad es casada tiene 8 hijos, de los hijos mayores no recuerda sus edades pero nos indica que se encuentran casados y cada uno vive con su familia, aún tiene dos hijos pequeños de 9 y 6 años de edad, ellos viven en la casa que tienen en Quingeo al cuidado de una hermana mayor, mientras que en la ciudad viven arrendando con su esposo, él trabaja en un pequeño kiosco que es de su propiedad y le ayuda en los gastos del hogar.
Manuela vende verduras en el mercado de la feria libre hace dos años, le va muy bien, y mucho más en los días de feria miércoles, sábados y domingos, le entregan la verdura y la revende recorriendo todo el mercado, está feliz porque el municipio de Cuenca esta por entregarles un puesto para que trabajen dentro del mercado y no deambulando por ahí.
Este es su primer crédito y una amiga le integro al grupo para que también se supere económicamente, el préstamo que la FUNDACION ESPOIR le entrega lo va ha invertir en la compra del puesto ya que le hace falta y también en comprar más verduras para su negocio
Su meta es de llegar a cultivar todas sus tierras por que por el momento están abandonadas para abastecer en algo su puesto de verduras en el mercado.
La señora Rosario Del Cisne Bermeo es otra socia del banco comunal Quingeo, migro hace 18 años de su pueblo natal Quingeo a la ciudad de Cuenca radicándose en ella, Rosario tiene 31 años de edad, hace poco tiempo contrajo nupcias pero viven juntos ya doce años, fruto de su amor procreo 3 hijos de 9, 7, 2 años de edad, no tienen casa propia y viven arrendando, su esposo es albañil, se apoyan mutuamente, cuando su esposo no encuentra trabajo le ayuda en el negocio.
Rosario se dedica a la venta de verduras, granos, cebolla, etc. en el mercado de la feria libre. Es comerciante desde que tiene uso de razón, nos cuenta que le va bien gracias a Dios y los días que más vende son los sábados y domingos, pero todos los días sale a vender recorriendo desde las 6 de la mañana hasta las 6 de la tarde y los días feriados sale a vender desde las 4 de la mañana para poder ocupar un puesto en el mercado.
Es su primer crédito, una compañera la invito a ser parte del Bankito y el dinero que la FUNDACION ESPOIR le entrega es para invertir en la compra de su puesto propio en el mercado y también para comprar más granos y ampliar su negocio.
Su sueño es ahorrar para comprar un carro o un terreno.
