Kean I

Kean I, 40, lives in the province of Pursat, Cambodia, where she owns and works a plot of land next to her house, growing both rice and vegetables. She can plant her crops twice a year, a trade she was taught by her grandfather. She is currently good mother to her three teenaged children. The first child helps her on the farm, the second child is a fisherman, while the last one attends school. She is married to Choeun Chin, age 41, a domestic fisherman and rice farmer. Kean I will be using her loan to pay for the cost of plowing her farmland and to buy fertilizer for her crop yield. She and her husband are shown in the picture at their field.
