Mrs. Yim Khim Village Bank Loan Group

This village bank loan consists of eighteen people and they all live in Svay Prey village in Kandal province. Mrs. Yim Khim is the village bank president who has been selected by the members.

Mrs. Yim Khim is a farmer who owns a piece of land on which she cultivates rice. Aside from this plantation, she raises pigs. Since her business raising pigs is doing well, she wants to expand it by purchasing more piglets to raise.

Mrs. Yim Khim is 47 years old and the mother of three children who are attending the local school. Her husband, Mr. Mai Try, owns a business in which uses rice to make wine.

Seven members in this group loans have end-of-term (EoT) loans and the rest have monthly payment loans. Those with EoT loans are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. EoT loans are AMK’s main product because they are the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. EoT loans allow them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make their payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and a default rate of 0% on Kiva.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
