Jeniva Kebirungi's Group

Jeniva Kebirungi is the leader of her lending group in Bushenyi. She is 40 years old and married with 8 children, aged 23 years to 8 months, all of whom are in secondary and primary schools (except one who is still young). She is a business lady involved in the sale of produce in Omukabare Katerera in Bushenyi. Before running this business, she used to sell tea at the road side; she had to change in order to make more earnings.

She has mainly sold her produce to traders from Kampala for 11 years now and she is able to make profits of approximately 150,000 UGX a month, which helps her to pay for her children’s education. She hopes to work hard so that she can own a large amount of stock that she can sell to large markets in Kampala directly. At the moment, Jeniva needs a loan to help buy agricultural produce for resale since part of the profits derived from her business help to pay off laborers. She is indeed a friendly and kind lady and this has won her customers in such a competitive business.
