The ten women of the group Dambe (7 married and 3 unmarried) have an average age of 35 and an average of 3 children.  They live for the most part in polygamous families in Sanoubougou 1, one of the districts of the city of Sikasso (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali).

The group members are collaborating with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso to satisfy the needs of their customers and are now on their second group loan.  The previous loan was repaid.  Their work involves selling medicines, cloth, condiments, fruit, oil, etc.

With their new loan, they intend to buy 4 packages of medicines, 5 packages of condiments, 4 sacks of oranges, 2 boxes of apples, 2 sacks of pineapples, 3 drums of vegetable oil (20 liters each), and 4 bales of cloth.

Supplies are gotten at the grand marketplace of Sikasso City and in neighboring villages.  Sales are made in Sikasso City in the different marketplaces from fixed spots and throughout the districts by hawking the goods.  Cash is accepted, and sometimes credit, from customers composed of men and women.

The group members each envision realizing a monthly profit of 31,500 francs CFA.  A portion of it will go towards savings and family needs, and the other portion will be invested in business.  Some of the group members intend to buy a plot of land on which to live in Sikasso City and to open a sales store.
