The members of Djekafo Group are married women who, on average, are 46 years old and have three children. They live with their husbands and children in large traditional families in the village of Yolla in the sub-prefecture of Fana, region of Koulikoro in the Republic of Mali.

They are neighbors or family members to each other. They have small businesses trading with various products such as cereals.

These women collaborate with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to successfully run their businesses and earn an income. This is their eleventh group loan and they have repaid all their previous loans on schedule. They will use their loan to stock up on all kinds of cereals, such as beans, sorghum, millet, corn etc. The cereals are bought little by little from producers and sold retail (cash and credit) in Fana to a diversified clientele of women and men.

They expect to make a profit of 20,000 CFA francs (US$44) each per month. They will use part of their profit to reinvest in their businesses and part of it to provide for their families.
