The Soro Yiriwaso group is made up of 6 married women, who have an average age of 32 and on average, 2 children. They mostly live in monogamous families in Médine, one of the neighborhoods of the town of Sikasso, 3rd administrative region of Mali. They are on their 5th loan, working together with Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution, with the intention of satisfying their customers’ needs. They have various businesses, among others selling African “waxcloth”, fruit, potatoes, shoes, etc..

With this new loan, they intend to buy 25 lengths of African “waxcloth”, 40 pairs of shoes, and 20 sacks of potatoes. They do their buying in the big market of Sikasso town and in surrounding areas. The goods are sold in the market, walking around the neighborhoods, or in their families, to a clientele composed of men and women, and mostly for cash.

They each expect to make an average monthly profit of 23,000 F CFA, of which a part will be invested back into their businesses and the rest put away as savings.
