Twelve people who all live in Boeng Krum Leu village in Kandal province make up this village bank loan. Mrs. Chantrea Khorn is the village bank president who has been selected by the members, who will all use the loan for different purposes.

Mrs. Chantrea Khorn is 35 years old and the mother of two children, one of whom is employed in a garment factory while the other is attending the local school. She is a farmer who owns a plot of land on which she grows vegetables.

Mrs. Chantrea Khorn’s husband, Mr. Chim Phal, is a fisherman. Now he needs a machine to connect to his boat for fishing. Thus, Mrs. Chantrea Khorn decided to ask for a loan for this purpose.

Four members in this group have end-of-term (EoT) loans and the rest have monthly payment loans. Those with EoT loans are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. EoT loans are AMK’s main product because they are the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. EoT loans allow them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make their payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
