Awurade Naye Group

Ophelia is 33 years old she is married and mother with two children. Currently all are schooling in the community where they live. They are very humble family who wants to invest in their children future by providing them with quality education. She is a petty trader and sells item like cooking oil, spices, pepper, onions. She supplies the onions to the food vendors in bulk. Selling of these products, she says they move very fast and you can easily recover your money to restock. She takes delivery of goods from the capital city of Kumasi. With her six years experienced in her business she wants to add other stuffs like maize, eggs and others which are frequently demanded by her customers. She says she would be grateful for your assistance.

She is the leader of a trust bank group called ‘Awurade Naye’ which means ‘It is the doing of the LORD’. She is the one sitting in the group photograph. Most of the members of this group are petty traders, food vendors etc. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to access the loan and peer pressure to repay the loan.
