Chok Sophat

Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Chok Sophat by CREDIT MFI -- World Relief in Cambodia. We are excited to watch this business grow. Over the next 12 - 18 months, CREDIT MFI -- World Relief will be collecting repayments from this entrepreneur and posting progress updates on the Kiva website.

Chok Sophat is a mother of three children and lives with her husband in Phnom Penh. She has business renting out the rooms to the nearby garment factory workers. To improve her living standard she decided to take out a loan of $1000 to purchase a plot of land to build out more rooms for extra profit.

She first heard about Credit’s low interest from a loan officer who visited her commune. She decided to take the loan because the interest rate of 2.5% is not very high and Credit provides a long loan term that she can afford. With the loan of $1000 she received she began to purchase a plot of land to build out more rooms to rent out to garment workers. She has been pleased with the results of her investment and can see her business growing. So far, her average income is up to $15 each day. She has no problems paying a loan back to Credit MFI. In the future, she wants to set up shop selling rice.
