Joana ( Namaacha) Tembe

Joana Tembe was born in Matutuine (a district south of the province of Maputo), she is 36 years old and is single, she doesn’t have children and lives at the rented house where she pays 500MT. She doesn’t have any other responsibilities and is able to save 1,000MT.

She left Matutuine because of the war, when she was still a child, and went to live in Maputo with her mother who left her years before and never saw her until then. After finishing the 10th grade she started studying to be a teacher for 2 years. Then she obtained a job at the Municipality of Villa de Namaacha at the frontier with Suazilandia as a teacher, first at a school that was 15km away from the village and later on at another closer to the village, 11 years ago. She is now a permanent teacher and earns 6,234MT monthly.

She got a loan from the (BIM) International Bank of Mozambique for 50,000MT to start the construction but she couldn’t finished due to the increased costs of materials. So she approached Hulvuku and Kiva to request a loan for 10,000MT to buy construction material in order to finish her house.

This is Joana’s first loan, and she is confident she will be able to pay before the due date and will request another loan to build in the capital city to guarantee the reform.

Joana Tembe nasceu em Matutuine (distrito a sul da província de Maputo), tem 36 anos de idade e solteira, não tem filhos e vive numa casa alugada pagando mensalmente um valor de 500.00MT. Não responsabiliza se por ninguém e consegue poupar por mês 1.000.00MT

Sai de matutuine devido à guerra, ainda criança, para cidade de Maputo com sua mãe esta que a abandonou e nunca mais se avistaram ate então. Após concluir a 10ª classe entra num curso de professorado que durou 2 anos. Depois é afecta para trabalhar no Município da Vila de Namaacha na Fronteira da Suazilândia como professora, primeiramente, numa Escola que dista 15 km da vila e seguidamente transferida para trabalhar noutra perto da Vila já a mais de 11 anos. É funcionaria permanente e aufere mensalmente um valor de 6.234.00MT.

Com o empréstimo que contraiu no (BIM) Banco Internacional de Moçambique, no valor de 50.000.00MT, para iniciar da sua obra que não terminou devido ao elevado custo do material. Aproxima se a Hluvuku e Kiva solicitando um empréstimo no valor de 10.000.00MT para compra de material de construção com objectivo de concluir a sua casa de alvenaria.

Este e o primeiro empréstimo de Joana. Está confiante que vai reembolsar antes do tempo previsto e pedir um novo para fazer mais uma obra na cidade capital para garantir a sua reforma.
