Try And See #1 Group

Try And See #1 consists of a group of five borrowers, led by Krubo Kenedy, who is from Zorzor, Lofa County, Liberia. Krubo and her husband were escaping from the war when they were attacked in an ambush; he did not survive. Krubo is 41 years old. She had eight children but four died during the war. Her four children are aged nine to 25 and all live with her. The 25 year-old is still in high school. She also cares for two orphans of unknown parentage. Krubo now lives in nearby Borkeza Town.

Krubo’s has a bakery, where she makes bread, chips, and other products. With the loan she hopes to purchase raw materials to increase her inventory to meet customer demand. She sells her goods in the Bokeza market and other markets. She has been running her business for the past two years. Her products are sought-out by customers because of their taste. With the profits, she will invest in the business to expand it and also to improve the bakery to make it safe for her staff (fire pit). She also hopes to take care of her four kids and two orphans to continue school.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Learn more
