Marcelina Barredo

Marcelina Barredo is from the village of Kinangay Sur, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She is 70 years old, is married, and has four adult children.

Marcelina owns and operates a business selling charcoal, manufacturing and selling charcoal products to local businesses and community members. She has been engaged in her business for over ten years and earns approximately 30,000 PHP a month.

In 2004, Marcelina joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 30,000 PHP from GDMPC.

Marcelina is requesting a new loan of 40,000 PHP which will be used to purchase raw materials such as coconut shells for manufacturing charcoal. This loan will be her 23rd loan from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand her business.
