At 60 years of age, Gaudencio maintains a good sense of humor. He and his wife Hilda live in their own home and they have 8 adult children. They have been able to support their family throughout the years by cultivating potatoes, peas, beans, and ulloco. In addition, they raise dairy cows so that they can obtain 3 to 4 buckets of milk each day to produce their rich cheeses, which are well-known among customers for their flavor. They sell their products in Lima every 2 weeks. Gaudencio already has regular customers in Lima, which is why he prepares between 40 to 60 blocks of cheese so that he can fulfill his orders. He sells the rest of his cheese in Tarma at the “Dos de Mayo” (May 2) Market, where products are sold at retail. Gaudencio is very happy with all of his business activities, since they enable him to provide for all of his necessities.

This will be Gaudencio’s ninth loan with MFP. His previous loans were very helpful. He has been with his Communal Bank for 5 years and was one of its founding members. The money he is requesting will be used to purchase chemical fertilizers and a supply of oats to feed to his cows.
