Msasani Group

Redson Moka, age 60, is married with six grownup children. He has owned a general store business since 1970. He works from 6.30am to 10pm daily and is able to earn a monthly profit of about $153.

This will be Redson’s fouth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to renovate his house and increase his business and has paid the loans back successfully. He now hopes for a new loan to grow the store and to paint his house.

Redson will share this loan with subgroup A of the Msasani group. The subgroup has 6 members, who are shopkeepers, drivers, grocery store owners and masons. These members hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Redson is second from right in a blue t-shirt.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
