Mary Jean Caballero

Mary Jean Caballero is one of the youngest members of the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) Credit Cooperative in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. She is 26 years old. Her husband, Danilo, is a 27-year-old street vendor. They have two children.

Mary Jean has been selling rice cakes and other native delicacies for the past six years. She earns a net income of at least 7,000 Philippine pesos a month. She makes these delicacies at home.

She joined the cooperative in 2007 upon the invitation of older housewives in her village. Now on her eighth loan cycle with CCT, she applied for a fresh loan in the amount of P8,000, which she will use to buy raw materials for making rice cakes (glutinous rice, flavorings, etc.)
