Bear The Weather Group

Here are members of The Bear the Weather group. They are small-scale businesswomen in Magburaka town in northern Sierra Leone. They are requesting a loan of Le 700,000 for each for the fourth time to enable them further improve on the quality and sizes of their businesses. With a lot of goods into their stalls, they will be able to attract a lot of customers into their stalls, make more sales and increase profit. Consequently, they will be able to better look after themselves and children.

Isatu Koroma (left) is the leader of this group. Isatu was born in a village called Kakump, in northern Sierra Leone. She is approximately age fifty-six, married to a businessman and they have six children together. Three of Isatu’s children are grown-ups and three are attending school. Isatu sells market food like pepper, palm-oil (the most popular cooking oil), onions, rice and other locally produce food stuffs. She has been in this business for many years now. With this loan, she will be able to expand her business, make more sales and better profit.
