Josefina Deveza

Josefina Deveza is from the village of Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City. She is 43 years old. Josefina is married and has two school-aged children. To make a living, Josefina operates a service-based business. The main source of income for the business comes from providing rooms for rent to local community members and students. Josefina has been engaged in her business for more than 10 years and earns approximately 15,000 Philippine pesos a month for these activities.

In 2006, Josefina joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Josefina has successfully repaid a previous loan of 23,000 PHP from HSPFI. This previous loan was used to to invest in renovating her rooms-for-rent business. Josefina is requesting a new loan of 26,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase materials needed to repair her rooms for rent. This will be the eighth loan taken out by Josefina from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the rooms of her house to cater to more boarders, especially students from other communities.
