Divina Ligsay

Divina Ligsay, 58, has been in business for the last ten years. She lives in Maricaban, Pasay City. Her husband, Hernando, 59, manages his own welding shop. Two of their three children are already working and help support their parents.

Divina sets up a table in an alley near her house and sells food items that she cooks every day. Her location enjoys a lot of traffic allowing her to earn close to P12,000 per month. Recently, she started selling charcoal (household fuel for cooking) to customers.

Divina joined the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) Credit Cooperative in early 2008 and has since been enjoying the many benefits it provides to its members. Divina recently applied for a new loan of P14, 000 so she can buy more charcoal which she has found to be a good source of additional income.

She hopes to someday turn her stall into a full-blown restaurant.
