Lucinda Ramirez De Garcia

Lucinda is 67 years old and is married with two adult children. She and her husband run a small grocery shop together. They also earn income by renting out rooms in their house in the city of Pucallpa.

Lucinda has been working with Kiva partner Manuela Ramos for two years and is a member of the communal bank “Las Almendras” (The Almonds). She will use this loan of 2000 soles to invest in her grocery shop. Lucinda also sells handmade stuffed animals. She used to spend a lot of her time sewing these toys, and even taught classes instructing others on how to make them. Because this project was taking up so much of her time, Lucinda has stopped making her stuffed animals for the time being but continues to sell the stock that remains.

Lucinda has had a good experience working with Manuela Ramos. Lucinda loves to cook and eventually plans to open her own restaurant and soda fountain. She and her husband are in the process of constructing this restaurant.
