Elia

Elia is 40 years old, married, and lives in her own home. She and her husband have 4 daughters who attend high school. Elia sells river fish of all varieties and sizes from her post in the informal market. Her work schedule runs from 6am to 11am and she has been doing this for the past 9 years. Occasionally one of her daughters will come with her to help tend to the customers. What she likes most about her job is that she gets to sell and take good care of people, especially her regular clients. In addition, her business is very profitable because she earns a daily income and gets better returns because she buys her fish directly from the river port at a lower price. Elia’s business is doing very well and sometime later she wants to export her product to other places that have not experienced the taste of freshwater fish.

Elia already has 8 previous loans with MFP. She loves working with her Communal Bank because all the members are punctual with their payments and understand one another. She will designate 500 soles to purchase more fish. With the rest of her loan, she plans to build a kiosk so that she can conduct business more peacefully and securely.

Elia tiene 40 años, es madre de 4 hijas, quienes aun estudian en el colegio y junto a su esposo viven en su casa propia. Ella se dedica a la venta de pescado de río de todas las variedades y tamaños en un puesto informal del mercado. Su horario de trabajo es de 6:00am a 11:00am y esta actividad la viene ejerciendo desde hace 9 años. En algunas oportunidades cuenta con el apoyo de una de sus hijas, quien la ayuda en la atención de los clientes. Y lo que le gusta de su trabajo es vender y dar una buena atención a las personas, sobre todo a sus caseras (clientes regulares). Por otro lado, su negocio le es muy rentable porque sus ingresos son diarios y compra el pescado directamente del puerto fluvial a un precio menor, por lo que obtiene mejores ganancias. A Elia le va muy bien, por lo que posteriormente quiere llegar a exportar este producto a otros lugares que desconocen lo sabroso de los pescados de agua dulce. Con este, Elia ya tiene 8 préstamos con MFP y le gusta trabajar con su banco comunal porque son todos los integrantes son puntuales y se comprenden entre sí. Con el dinero que viene solicitando comprará más pescado, para ello usará 500 soles; con lo restante mandará a construir un kiosco para vender con mayor tranquilad y seguridad.
