Grandensio Nakintu's Group

Nakintu Grandensia is the leader of her lending group in Seguku. She is 50 years old and married. She has 2 dependents and she helps to take care of 7 orphans. All of the children go to school.

She is a businesswoman who sells charcoal and matooke at the Seguku Trading Centre. Although the competition is stiff, she is able to make 30,000/= (Ugandan shillings) in profits each week. Her loans have enabled her to own a house for her family. In the future, she plans to expand her business further because her family grows by the day. Grandensia says that, although she has two main businesses, she also sells other produce, such as cassava, irish potatoes, and cabbage. She needs a loan to help restock her business with a variety of food.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
