Julia

Julia is a strong and brave woman. She is 45 years old and lives with her husband and 3 children in their own home. For 20 years, she has engaged in arduous farm labor along with her family. They primarily grow potatoes, but also raise sheep and other small animals such as guinea pigs. Every morning they allow their animals to graze during their long walks that can last for hours because of the expanse of their pastures. Once six months have passed after the planting of their potato crops, the activities involved with the harvest begin to intensify because a lot more physical work is required. In the meantime, Julia sells guinea pigs in response to urgent needs that arise at home.

In previous years, their crops have provided variable gains. Despite these difficulties, Julia has been able to support her family and continues to fight so that she can have better harvests.

Julia is requesting her fourth loan from MFP. Her perseverance and participation in her Communal Bank have enabled her to become recognized as one of the most supportive members of her group. She pledges to continue with a good attitude. The money she is requesting will be used to purchase heads of sheep and fertilizer for the next planting season.

Julia es una mujer fuerte y valiente, tiene 45 años, vive con su esposo y sus 3 hijos en su casa propia. Ya son 20 años de ardua labor agrícola, la cual realiza junto a su esposo y sus 3 hijos. Ellos cultivan principalmente la papa y también crían ganado ovino y otros animales menores como los cuyes, los cuales mantiene en su casa. Todas las mañanas sale a pastear a sus animales durante largas caminatas que duran horas, debido a la distancia de los pastizales adecuados para que sus animales estén bien alimentados. Pasados 6 meses aproximadamente las tareas se intensifican, ya que la cosecha o la siembra requieren de mayor esfuerzo físico. Pero mientras tanto, Julia sale a vender los cuyes que tiene en su granja y de esa manera responder a las necesidades urgentes que se presentan en el hogar. Durante todos estos años sus cosechas le han proporcionado ganancias variables, pese a eso, el sustento familiar se mantiene y por esta razón Julia planifica para el futuro en seguir luchando por tener mejores cosechas. Esta es la cuarta vez que tiene un préstamo con MFP, su perseverancia en formar parte de su banco comunal le ha permitido ser reconocida como una de las integrantes más solidarias y se compromete a seguir con esta buena actitud. El dinero que viene solicitando será destinado a la compra de ovejas y abono para su próxima campaña de siembra.
