Aidah Kyambadde

Aidah is 32 years old and married. She has eight children between 3 and 13 years of age; all of her children go to school. She also takes care of one additional family member. Aidah rents a four-room house where she resides with twelve people. There is electricity and no piped water at her home. The family gets three meals a day.

Aidah resides in semi-urban area and works there selling charcoal. On average she sells to 20 customers a day. Aidah sells to all categories of people and works seven days a week. Her major monthly expenses include rent for her business and her residence, plus medications. She doesn’t incur any extra transport costs because she buys from her place of work. She has been in this business for six years.

Aidah has been with MCDT for five years and is servicing her fifteenth loan working with the same group mates. She wants to use this loan to buy more sacks of charcoal. Aidah aspires to see her business grow bigger.
