Jennifer Balaoro, 38, believes that “the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” She loves to cook for her family, especially her husband Jonjie, 38, who works as a driver and a part-time cook. They have four lovely children – all school-aged.

Five years ago, Jennifer converted a portion of their house into a small eatery where she serves “value meals” which are a hit for drivers and students. She makes a daily sale of P 800. Her kids take turn in assisting her in her business, especially on peak days.

Jennifer got more blessings when she joined the Center for Community Transformation (CCT) Credit Cooperative in 2006. She used her previous loans from the cooperative to sustain her business. Now on her 8th loan, she needs the amount of P 10,000 to venture into an additional business buying and selling pork.

About CCT

The Center for Community Transformation (CCT) is an organized Christian response against poverty and social injustice. This is carried out through the fusion of social development initiatives and evangelical mission in a uniquely Filipino context. It serves urban and rural poor communities throughout the Philippines, in pursuit of its desire to see changed lives, strong families, and transformed communities centered in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Dear Lenders,

For Jennifer, having the additional income that was generously granted to her was truly a blessing, because it enabled her to buy more raw ingredients for her cooked food business.

She used the Php10,000 loan to buy two sacks of rice, meat, poultry products, vegetables, seasonings, etc. She has whipped additional dishes which resulted to an increase in her clientele base. She wants you Lenders to know that her business is doing okay, and she has you to thank for it.
