Mrs. Puy Chum has lived in the Siem Reap province in Cambodia for the past 23 years and can make up to $2 a day. She has five children, two of whom are students and two who are employed. With her loan she was able to purchase wood to build a house with. She also used the money to buy a bicycle for her children to use as transportation to work, as well as supplies for her husband’s fish farming business. The additional income from that these investments have generated has gone towards clothing and food for her family. In the future, she would like to purchase a battery charger to help her run a new business with.
