Juana sells “bisuterías” and personal items from her stall outside La Terminal Market in Leon. Bisuterías is a tricky word to translate, but it implies a knickknack or stationary store. On that note Juana sells all sort of things ranging from hairclips to small toys. She used the loan to buy rings, hair ties, and hair clips to increase her stall’s inventory. Receiving loans helps her income grow a little bit each time she said. Recently though, her sales have gone down considerably.

Right now she sells her goods from a temporary stand, where she is out in the sun all day. Being in the sun affects her poorly. In the future, she would like to have her own permanent stall in the market. Juana is single. She has 4 children. The oldest 3 are adults and the youngest, age 17, is still in school.
