Mujeres Valientes Group 2, 3, 7

Vonice Joseph is a successful microentrepreneur and president of the Bank of Hope: Mujeres Valientes (Valiant Women) who has spent the last 10 years plying her trade in the Area known as Villa Asención surrounding the port city of Puerto Plata in the Domincian Republic. This area rarely has electricity (only a few hours a day) and is located close to a river where water is drawn. She is married and lives with her Husband as well as her three children aged 3, 6 and 9 in a rented house.

Vonice plans to use this loan as opportunity to continue expanding her business which will lead to higher income and give her the ability to improve her housing situation by purchasing her own home. Vonice says that she is grateful for having had the opprtunity to work with Esperanza because it has improved her life and Esperanza is happy to have her as she is a good associate with a solid repayment record over the last two loan cycles.
