Sérénité Plus Group

Thérèse Mangwahu, age 44, is the leader of the group named "Sérénité Plus", which was established in solidarity with the aim of receiving loans from HOPE Kinshasa RDC. Thérèse entered the micro-enterprise world in 1996 with $50 in initial capital. She managed to stabilize her business, thanks to rigorous work while reinvesting the accumulated profits. Her business is located in an outlying district and the most populated north of Kinshasa.

Thérèse received a loan three times from HOPE, and she totally repaid them and on time. Her ambition is to open a hardware store to serve the people in her district who travel far to find items they need. Financial support through Kiva loans via HOPE RDC is helping her to make her business prosper and, progressively, to realize her dream. Today, her business generates $30 in profit for her weekly. With the next loan, she intends to buy a quantity of nails to resell with the aim of growing her profit.

Thérèse is married and the mother of eight children varying in age from 1 to 23. Six of them are in school.

Thérèse Mangwahu 44 ans est dirigeante du groupe dénommé « Sérénité Plus » qui s’est constituée solidairement en vue de recevoir des prêts auprès de Hope Kinshasa RDC.
Thérèse est entrée dans le monde de micro-entreprise depuis 1996 avec un capital initial de $50. Elle est parvenue à stabiliser son affaire grâce à un travail rigoureux et en réinvestissant les bénéfices accumulés. Son activité se situe dans un quartier périphérique et le plus peuplé au nord de Kinshasa. Elle a reçu trois fois les crédits de Hope qu’elle a remboursé totalement et à temps. Son ambition est d’ouvrir une quincaillerie pour desservir la population de son quartier qui effectue de longues distances pour trouver des pièces qu’elle a besoin. L’appui financier à travers des crédits de Kiva par Hope RDC l’aide à faire prospérer son activité et à réaliser progressivement son rêve. Aujourd’hui, son affaire lui génère hebdomadairement un bénéfice de $30. Elle compte acheter avec le prochain prêt une quantité de clous à revendre en vue d’accroitre le bénéfice. Thérèse est mariée et mère de 8 enfants dont leurs âges varient entre 1 et 23 ans. Six d’entre eux sont scolarisés.
