Carroll is the founder and owner of Shule Vista Academy, an educational daycare center that focuses on caring for girls between the ages of 3 and 5. As a mother of three, Caroll cares deeply about the impact that enriching early education has on personal and academic development. When she was laid off a year ago, she saw an opportunity to combine her passion with her need for employment to start a school. Self-employment also allowed Caroll the flexibility to care for her own children.
Shule Vista Academy offers a wide range of classes including music, art, yoga, dance, and self esteem building exercises. A $5,000 loan will allow Carroll to purchase educational supplies, playground equipment, and plant an organic garden.
Carroll is earning her masters degree in education and hopes to hire additional employees and turn Shule Vista Academy into a fully independent school providing education for girls from K-5th grade.
