Yolanda is 40 years old and is very cheerful and hard working. She lives in her own house with her two children, Zenaida who is 21 and Wilson who is 18. She would like to give them a better life. Yolanda has been a carpenter for 14 years and works with her children. They manufacture beds, tables, chairs, etc. and sell them to the furniture vendors at the Tupa Amaru market (a very important market in the city of Juliaca). She does very high quality work and the finish on the furniture is very good; her products sell very quickly. Her favorite part of her business is transforming the wood into useful products. Transporting the wood to her house is the most difficult part of her job and is very tiring. She would like to have her own store where she can sell her furniture. This is her second loan with MFP and she has made all of her past payments on time as she does not want to cause problems for the members of her community bank, where she is well liked for her contagious cheerfulness. With the 2,000 nuevos soles she will purchase more wood to manufacture new furniture and will be able to increase her earnings.
