Ma. Luisa Pelingon

Ma. Luisa Pelingon is 49 years old. She is married and has 2 school-aged children. She lives in Barangay Mabini, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.

Mrs. Pelingon is a natural entrepeneur who has improved her family's plight through her knowledge and skills in handling her business. From the time she joined NWTF-Project Dungganon in 2002, Luisa has continuously used her loans to improve and expand her "sari-sari" (variety) store, which now earns her about PHP 21,000 per month.

In addition to the sari-sari store, Luisa raises pigs in her backyard and has a 1.2 hectare (~ 3 acre) rice field which is harvested three times a year.

She is now borrowing PHP 14,500 to add to her working capital in the hope that she will generate enough profits to make improvements on her house.
