Bertha is 54 years old and lives with her husband, Daniel, also 54 years old, and their children, Henry (34), Jimy (33), Edwar (28) and Jean (25). She sells shoes by order for a living, offering her neighbors beautiful models that she brings from the city of Trujillo (a province to the north of Lima) where they make excellent quality footwear in original designs. Bertha travels constantly in order to acquire her merchandise and afterwards to sell it door to door according to the orders placed. The business has become very profitable, and now that her sales are increasing, she would like to increase her merchandize and grow her business. In the future, Bertha would like to have a store in her house so she won’t need to walk so much; it is very tiring going from house to house leaving orders and collecting money. This is her first individual loan with MFP. With her previous work in communal banks she had the opportunity to educate herself in the punctuality of payments, and thus is committed to the prompt return of her loan. With the money she is asking for, she will buy a bigger quantity of shoes in order to begin the expansion of her business.
