Update from Peru on your loan!

Entrepreneur: Santa Isabel De Acosvinchos Group
Location: Ayacucho, Peru

The Santa Isabel de Acosvinchos Community Bank is comprised of members from the district of Acosvinchos, which is located one hour from the city of Ayacucho.

The members pursue different business, like selling cereals, sweets, footwear, fruit, groceries, meat and food, taking care of animals, making tiles, and public transport.

I was able to catch up with two members of the Acosvinchos Community Bank, Zinaida and Aida Luz, to see how this loan cycle affected their respective businesses.

Zinaida runs a small store where she sells various groceries. With her portion of the group loan, she bought basics such as sweets, fruits, and sugar. Her business has been going well, and she has had no trouble repaying her loan in a timely fashion. She invested the entire loan in to her business, and it is allowing her to grow more. Zinaida hopes to continue growing her business and herself. Her favorite thing about working with FINCA has been the simple and organized way that FINCA facilitates the loan process.

Aida Luz, on the other hand, runs a fruit stand in the market. Her business has been going well, and she, too, has had no trouble making her loan repayments in a timely fashion. The loan has enabled her to purchase greater quantities and varieties of fruit to sell, which attracts more customers to her stand. Aida Luz hopes to continue working diligently as long as she can. Her favorite thing about working with FINCA has been their relatively low interest rates and how they allow her access to capital.

FINCA Peru's Mission is to contribute to the empowerment of social and economically disadvantaged women in Peru. By facilitating the integral development of human capacities, FINCA Peru promotes the development of the entrepreneurial spirit within each of its clients. Its mission is to strengthen the social discipline of women through the daily practice of positive values such as equity, solidarity, respect, responsibility and honesty.
