Ly Phey is a 54-year-old widow and mother of five children who is a resident of Siem Reap Province. She was married, but her husband died of senility. Her five children are now married and some of them have already started new homes. Ly Phey currently earns a living growing crops on a piece of land. One of her married sons is still living with her, and he works on the farm using his own farming machine. He also sells pork that he slaughters. Ly Phey requests a loan to buy rice in bulk from other farmers during the coming harvesting season so she can resell it at a profit.
