Chhom Chha

Chhom Chha, age 34, is married and has four school-aged children. She lives with her husband in Siem Reap province.

To make a living, Chha is involved in a business selling Cambodian dessert, typically earning US$6 per day. The family is also assisted by her husband who is a construction worker with an income of US$4 per day.

The financial crisis has been difficult for businesses in Cambodia this past year. This factor has played into a difficult economic year for much of the country, Chha included. The country's economic struggles always seem to affect the poor the most.

In light of the country's economic difficulties, Chha is seeking to increase her income and improve her business. She is asking for a loan of US$1,000 to purchase a motorbike to easily commute to sell her dessert. By doing so, she will be able to cut back on the great expense of transportation and save more income to raise a good standard of living for her family.
