Karibu View Group

Maua Rajabu, age 32, is married with three children, 13, 10 and 8 years. She stays with her mother. She has a beauty salon. She started this business in 2006. She works daily from 8am until 7pm. She is able to earn a monthly profit of around $226.

This will be Maua’s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to buy a dryer and has paid back the loan successfully. She hopes for a new loan to start selling rice, which she intends to collect from upcountry.

Maua will share this loan with her loan group, Karibu View, which totals 18 members. The members of the group hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Maua is second from the right in the front row.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
