Composed of 8 married women, the Komadia 3 group is made up of farm women who have an average age of 44 and on average 8 children. They mostly live in traditional extended conjugal families with their brothers, sisters, children and husbands in the village of Sogola, township of Bougouni, Sikasso region, Republic of Mali. They met because of being related by marriage and due to their farm work.

With the intention of increasing their agricultural output and hoping to raise enough food to feed their families, they decided to join the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso with whom they are on their fifth rural loan after having reimbursed the preceding ones correctly.

With this new loan these women intend to buy seeds, 12 sacks of fertilizer (4 sacks of cereal complex and 8 sacks of urea) in order to grow 3.5 hectares of peanuts and 2 hectares of rice. All the agricultural inputs and seeds needed by the group will be bought in the marketplace of Bougouni.

They hope to have a total production at the end of the growing season amounting to 2.625 tons of shelled peanuts and 3 tons of rice. Part of this production will be consumed by their families and the rest will be stockpiled and sold wholesale and for cash to the business people of Bougouni.

After reimbursing the interest on the loan, the group expects to have a profit of 150,000 F CFA at the end of the growing season, which will be used to raise goats.
