Señora Marina Pozo is 27 years old. She is married with Señor Luis Cabrera Flores. They have been married for three years and have a baby who is 1-year-old. They live in a zone that is dedicated to the production of milk.

Señora Marina has been working raising dairy cattle for 10 years. She delivers everything that she produces to a local micro-business that makes dairy products for sale in a market in the city of Cochabamba. She began working with her mother and little by little began buying her own cattle to become independent.

She needs the loan to be able to buy food for her cattle in order to store enough for all the year. This will impact her production since she will not have a scarcity of food and will produce more milk to generate more income. In the future she hopes to buy more dairy cows and to increase her income to be able to improve her house and to give her baby better living conditions.

Update from Bolivia on your loan!

Entrepreneur: Marina Pozo
Location: Cochabamba, Bolivia

Señora Marina Pozo is 27 years old. She is married with Señor Luis Cabrera Flores. They have been married for three years and have a baby who is 1-year-old. They live in a zone that is dedicated to the production of milk.

Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to stop by Marina’s home to see how this loan cycle has been for her. Marina used her loan of $1,200 to purchase more food for her livestock, including soy husks. She reports that the additional capital to invest in cattle food has helped her milk production increase significantly, and she has had no problems in making repayments thus far.

Marina’s dream is to eventually have a more stable business of her own, perhaps opening a store or a restaurant. Her goal is to get there through incrementally growing her earnings through dairy cow farming. Check out the photo below, taken of Marina last Thursday.

CIDRE’s mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of small-level dairy/livestock producers and of rural and semi-urban micro and small businesses, through the provision of quality financial services. Their principle goal is to be a leading entity in the provision of financial services, characterized by providing efficient service with sound ethics, creativity, and social engagement with the community.
