Benkadi 5 De(benkadi A Tingolé) Group

The ten members who compose the group BENKADI 5 of the association BENKADI A are married women who average 45 years of age and 4 children. The women live for the most part in polygamous families in TINGOLE, the seat of a rural community in FANA subprefecture (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali).

The group members are collaborating with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso with the goal of obtaining financial support for carrying out their winter-time work, which revolves around growing sorghum and peanuts. The group is now on its fifth experience with the institution. All the preceding loans were repaid without any problems at all.

This new loan will be used to buy fertilizer, herbicide, and minor supplies and equipment and to cover the cost of weeding and labor for maintaining 28 hectares.

After harvesting, a portion of their production is consumed at home. The other portion is sold to generally big city customers at the marketplaces of the village of Marka-Coungo and Fana.

The group members plan on realizing an average profit of 30,000 francs CFA after the planting campaign.

Les dix membres que compose le groupe BENKADI 5 de l’association BENKADI A sont des femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 45 ans, 4 enfants et vivant la plupart dans des familles polygames à TINGOLE chef lieu d’une commune rurale de la sous préfecture de FANA, 2ème région administrative de la république du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso dans le but d’avoir un soutien financier pour la réalisation de leurs activités hivernales. Leurs activités sont axées sur la culture du sorgho et de l’arachide. Elles sont à leur cinquième expérience avec l’institution. Tous les prêts précédents ont été remboursés sans aucune difficulté.
Ce nouveau prêt sera utilisé pour acheter, de l’engrais, de l’herbicide, des petits matériels agricoles et payer les frais de sarclage et de labour pour entretenir 28 hectares.
Après les récoltes, une partie de leur production est auto consommée et l’autre partie est vendue dans les marchés du village de Marka-Coungo et Fana, à une clientèle venant généralement des grandes villes.
Elles comptent réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 30 000FCFA après la campagne.
